Small; gray, yellowish-brown, brown, or reddish-brown, with 2 parallel rows of small dark spots bordering an indistinct wide light back stripe. The belly is usually bright red. Pantherophis obsoleta. which spans a total of 600,000 acres in central and northern Louisiana.
